Abstract

本稿の目的は、ソフトウェア産業におけるツーサイド・プラットフォーム戦略において、プラットフォーム製品上で動く補完製品のOSやアプリケーション等の派生種の発生が、ツーサイド・プラットフォーム戦略上の正のサイド間・サイド内ネットワーク効果を阻害する仕組みに関して仮説提起する。その上で事例を例証し、補完製品を生み出す開発業者の開発動機と、プラットフォーム製品の多様性の関係について確認を行う。最後に、プラットフォーマー（プラットフォーム提供者）にとってのプラットフォーム戦略上のインプリケーションを導出する。

The purpose of this paper is to propose hypotheses about a mechanism that interferes with positive same side and cross side network effects in the two-sided platform strategy. This is caused by the "derivative species" made from the OS, applications, etc., which are complementary products running on platform products in the tow-sided platform strategy in the software industry. Then, the paper exemplifies the case and confirms the relationship between the development motivation of the developer who produces the complementary product and the diversity of the platform product. Finally, the paper derives platform strategy implications for platformers (platform providers).
